The Light Durham has announced a wide-ranging autumn and winter programme of exhibitions, talks, performances, workshops, live music and late-night cultural events, following more than 5,000 visits during its opening week.

The Light, Durham City’s new cultural venue at Aykley Heads, will open on Saturday 22 August 2026 with a weekend of live performances, creative activities and exhibitions. The programme will continue through the summer holidays, with workshops, free family activities and ticketed sessions planned alongside the venue’s inaugural exhibitions.
