Durham University’s MBA has risen 20 places in the latest QS rankings, putting the programme joint-70th in the world and 30th in Europe.

The result places Durham University Business School’s MBA among the strongest-performing programmes in the QS Global MBA and Business Masters Rankings 2027. The university said the MBA improved in every assessed category, including student experience, career outcomes and international reputation.

Durham MBA climbs the global table

The MBA has moved up from 90th place to joint-70th globally. Durham University described the rise as its most significant improvement in this year’s rankings.

The QS rankings assess business schools internationally using measures including employer reputation, academic reputation, graduate outcomes and return on investment. Durham said the latest result reinforces its reputation for academically rigorous programmes with strong employability outcomes and international impact.

The MBA’s European position has also strengthened, with Durham now ranked 30th in Europe. For prospective students in Durham and beyond, the ranking provides an international measure of the programme’s standing and the outcomes associated with its graduates.

Five Durham master’s programmes in global top 60

The strong performance extends beyond the MBA. Durham’s MSc Finance is ranked 60th globally, while the MSc Marketing programme has retained its 35th-place position in the world.

  • MSc Management: 43rd globally
  • MSc Business Analytics: 52nd globally
  • MSc Supply Chain Management: 27th globally

The university said its Supply Chain Management programme remains in the global top 30, while five of its master’s programmes are ranked among the world’s top 60.

Wider Durham University performance

The programme results follow Durham University’s performance in the QS World University Rankings 2027, where the university rose nine places to 85th globally. They also build on the institution’s showing in the QS Online MBA rankings, where its Online MBA is ranked equal 10th globally.

Durham University Business School said the rankings reflect the work of its colleagues, the calibre of its students and alumni, and partnerships with employers around the world. It said its programmes combine academic excellence with practical relevance, giving graduates knowledge, skills and networks intended to support their careers.
